rare for me to see one, no smug number plate and it only said 85 on the tailgate.

They aer very uncommon around where I live as well - I know of one doctor in town who has one in gray, but that’s the only one I’ve seen that ‘lives’ around here. Only other Model S I’ve seen had US plates and was here on vacation last summer - it was blue.

The ones that only say 85 are the base 85 kWh versions. The number tells you the battery size. Then some of them have a “P” like “P85" - that’s the “Performance” model that is a bit more powerful. Others have a “D” at the end and those get the extra motor in the front axle. So if I’m not mistaken there is 85, 85D, P85, and P85D. And swap the 85 for a different number for different battery sizes.

They’re quite common in the Netherlands. Probably the most common American cars, if we were to ignore euro-Ford and Opel products. I see them quite frequently.
